HAMLET
About the show.
Caborca’s take on Shakespeare’s most celebrated work is performed backwards as a female Hamlet retraces her steps, turning tragic causality on its head. Staging is drawn from Gianni de Lucca’s groundbreaking 1977 comic book adaptation, creating an unsettling physical vocabulary that reflects tension between instability and paralysis, a mark of our increasingly corrupt geopolitics.

What People Are Saying
“As a seeker of truth, then, Caborca’s Hamlet is racked with doubt. Here, his crisis of confidence has less to do with the question of whether he is equal to the task. He is, rather, certain that he will succeed and certain that his success will make no difference whatever in a world where the currency of the truth has been devalued. In this way, Hamlet also becomes a metaphor for the post-modern artist, for the seeker after truth.”
